The flagship choir of SVCC, the Concert Choir is made up of 60-70 advanced choristers ranging from age 10-18, selected through an audition process. Focusing on high-quality performance, Concert Choir sings repertoire using two- to four-part harmony, challenging vocal technique, score analysis, dissonant intervals, and multiple foreign languages. Concert Choir tours include local, regional, national, and international venues.
Concert Choir is directed by Mrs. Hostetter, and meets weekly on Mondays for 1 hour and 45 minutes from 6:30-8:15 p.m.
Treble choir is comprised of 30-40 children ages 9-14 and builds on fundamental principles of music. The Treble Choir focuses on vocal technique, sight singing, music literacy, ear training, round singing, and repertoire with up to three voice parts. Treble Choir members are selected through an audition process and perform three concerts throughout the year.
Treble Choir is directed by Mrs. Hostetter, and meets weekly on Mondays for a total of 1 hour 15 minutes from 4:45-6:15 p.m.
The youngest of the performance choirs, The Preparatory Choir consists of 20-35 children ages 7-11, selected through an audition process. The primary focus of the Preparatory choir is learning best practices in choral singing, including breathing, diction, posture, healthy vocal production, performance etiquette, ear training, sight singing, and round singing. Preparatory choir performs on two concerts throughout the year.
Prep Choir is directed by Mrs. Anderson, and meets weekly on Mondays for a total of 1 hour 15 minutes from 4:45-6:15 p.m.
